Kilobit (kbit) follows SI: 1000 bits. Multiply nibbles by four for bits, then divide by a thousand—ideal when datasheets quote decimal link rates.
Do not swap Kibit
Kibit stacks 1024 bits; mixing the two skews VoIP codec math if someone pasted the wrong prefix.
