Kilometers to Miles
Metric distances in imperial terms
Multiply kilometers by roughly 0.621371 to get statute miles—the length used on US road signs and most GPS apps in the United States. Trail races in Europe often publish kilometers; US runners mentally convert to minutes per mile using this factor.
When to use it
Marathon splits, rental-car odometer comparisons, or explaining EU energy-label driving ranges to US buyers. For speed (km/h vs mph), use Kph to Mph instead of reusing distance numbers.
