Why BMP after GIF
GIF decodes to indexed pixels; BMP stores them as uncompressed BGR rows—massive files but trivial for C++ loaders that lack GIF codecs. Expect huge growth versus the original GIF.
Static frame only
Unless your pipeline understands animation, you get one frame—confirm which one the converter chooses. For editing flexibility, prefer GIF to PNG.
