What EXIF reveals
JPEG/TIFF-family images often embed metadata: capture time, camera body, lens, GPS coordinates, orientation flags, and software editing hooks. Forensics teams love it; privacy advocates strip it—home photos can leak street-level locations when GPS tags remain.
When to use it
Verify whether marketing exports still carry sensitive locations before PDF print, debug odd rotation on mobile Safari, or audit whether drones embedded altitude tags. After review, run assets through Image optimizer or editor batch jobs that remove metadata prior to public posts.
